A Scene form the Galata Mevlevihane...Istanbul

So many people have looked at this photo and rated it, I'm surprised there are no comments. This photo is so easy to look at - the swirling skirts and the soft muted colours - they make me wish I was there. A really lovely image.

Agree to the last comment, a breathe-taking picture. However, to "find a bone from a chicken egg" (Chinese idiom, which means being picky), the crossing of the light with the second floor distracts me. But still nice composition, great choice of shutter speed.

I saw a performance of American Whirling Darvishes in California and it was quite a mesmorizing experience. But the hall in your photo is so beautiful that it must add also to the viewer experience. I am surprised that you were able to take photos. In California they did not allow that. I am curious as to how many people in Turkey still belong to the Mevlavi order? They have nice traditions and deciplines like this one - the Whirling.
