the grey house 0 Posted April 9, 2004 Adam, you have a very dali'esque style. Nice and intriguing work. Do you do all of your work in B&W? Just wondering whether colour would enhance or distract more from the image. Regards Paul. Link to comment
amills 0 Posted April 9, 2004 yes all my stuff is done in B&W. I have found its too hard to blend colors together. ie.. the grey of a blue sky is the same as brown dirt. whats dali'esque? Link to comment
amills 0 Posted April 9, 2004 Heres my newest one. im happy with it.. what do you think.? Link to comment
amills 0 Posted April 9, 2004 whats wrong with "doctored" photos? if its done with multiple negatives is it considered doctored? or just digitaly like here? Link to comment
geoffgadow 0 Posted April 9, 2004 This is just not photography. It might be art, but it does not belong here. Link to comment
akshaya 0 Posted April 9, 2004 the photo looks cool.. but as some others here, i don't fancy the digital alterations much.. even using multiple negatives, i think, should be considered doctoring images.. whereas if multiple-exposures are used, that's photography allright !! i think this site is to showcase what u can do with ur camera, not ur computer ! amills 0 Posted April 9, 2004 (thanks Alec Ee.) this is showing what i can do with my camera. I took the pictures of thes 5 different things. Do you people consider the works of Jerry Uelsmann or Scott Mutter to be "not photography?" "most people still tend to think that when photographers make pictures they must depict objects and scenes that could, in principle, also be described in words. Photographs which apear to lack the assertive handiwordk which the artist has traditionally pointed to his inventions are understood to be truly photographic, while artists in photography who employ varied and fundamental approaches to the synthesis of the medium are shunned." Peter C. Bunnel, from the intro to Uelsmanns second book. Link to comment
ZuikoD 0 Posted April 10, 2004 Bravo on your photography! IT IS PHOTOGRAPHY FOLKS! He did not paint it, wrote it or spoke it, he photographed it. Stand down from your narrow minde pulpits, let other people create in peace.... Link to comment
ZuikoD 0 Posted April 10, 2004 Geoff, This belongs here. I guess you do other arts for your stuff is not shown here. If you are going to be so harsh, walk the walk and don't just talk the talk. Micah, I don't wnat to sound to harsh, but your photos need a lot of "doctoring" in terms of color and contrast manipulation ina COMPUTER... Akshaya, the world is turning, digital is part of photography as chemistry is. He is not showcasing the computer, he is using it as a tool. The pictures you have that are printed are VERY MUCH altered in a computer by the way, it may not be you, but ask your 1 hour photo technician and he will tell you. peace Link to comment
amills 0 Posted April 11, 2004 dont think that all i do is digital. I also do traditional, but dont have a scanner to upload them. thanks for the comments. Adam Link to comment
dibaphoto 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Im not sure if this battle is over but the fact is that Adam is finding other means of expression thought a camera, if you are able to make such creative images then why not, also im recently getting into digital i used to think the same way as these hardcore film buffs, i still dont think that a digital image has the same effect/feeling as a film printed picture. Nice work i really like you ideas. oh and adam now that you are rating everyone that comments on this picture what do you think of mine. Link to comment
