Our daughter, on left, used this for her baby announcement and labeled it "We've expanded our house by two feet".

Comments welcome.

You have an eye for human behaviour, for me it is very serious shot, which would fetch good price if it is sold.

This is just great. I can't take my eyes off those little baby feet. I think they are what make the picture so good.

Great idea, including the "message" your daughter sent around, and the execution is also good.

Love it, fun, it is a smiley picture.

Clean feet, hahahaha, you guys keep a clean house hahahaha.

I've got a kick out this!

Great Idea! Really very creative! =) From the title, to the intention of the picture, it really is a different perspective to tell a family story! ;) lol

About the photo itself I wonder how a different tissue could make the feet stand out. Just a thought... :)

Anyway, congratulations! =)

I like what you've called it!

But in the end it is just a funny idea, not anything photographically or artistically serious. It looks awkward to me-i know the baby has been placed there where he/she just wouldn't normally be

if I copy this idea. We got a new addition too...and this would be hilarious.

cute photo, good job setting it up. I have seen this before from a baby announcement company (similar photo, same quote, same idea) and I wondered how it could best be set up.

Thanks to those of you that enjoyed this fun picture and commented and rated. A couple of people commented that it looked posed...no kidding...and not natural...I'm wondering how they would have done it and made two week old baby match up with his 38 year old mom and dad and five year old brother.

Panab, go do it. I'd like to see your finished version. It would be easier on a bed if you can get the light behind you.

Dena, do you remember where, when you saw this idea? I had this idea in my head for 20 years before I was able to execute this. The original was of big brother above when he was about two weeks old. The little brother above is two weeks old but still two weeks from his due date so he's a tiny (but willing) one. He's one one toothless smiley kid now. I'll post some images of his "other" end soon.

I saw this idea about 5 years ago, just after my first was born. I believe it was from a company called Stork Avenue. I kept one of their brochures around thinking I might borrow the idea when I had my second child (but that was 2 years ago and I went with a different idea on her announcement, plus the last thing I wanted to think about with a newborn was getting myself a pedicure-ha!) I also recall seeing a very similar photo on a greeting card in CVS or Walgreens. The photo was same set up but a high key b&w with white sheets. Either way it is a cute photo and a good idea. Congrats on your ratings and comments, that alone is a feat-no pun intended. I'll keep my eyes open for the "toothless photos."

Thanks Matthew for the URL...should be a good source for some ideas. Isn't it funny when you think you have an original idea somebody else also had that same idea. That's because there are only so many ideas to go around. I honestly did have this idea for more than 20 years...but then maybe they did also, huh.

Also note...great minds think alike...or something like that.

Ya'll have fun every chance you get.

Glenn,

I love it :~) It is so cute! This is my first time I've seen your portfolio, and I couldn't stop looking at this picture. It is such a great idea, one I'm sure your daughter will cherish forever. Thanks for sharing.
