I can't view the entire picture on my screen, try posting at 800X600 pixels in the future.

How can you improve? Depends on what your trying to achieve. I'm not one of these guys who wakes up at sunrise to shoot landscapes, and when I do shoot landscapes, I look for a subject, or a twist to the shot. You have centered in on an area of light, but I hardly call it a subject. What is the potential then: I say perhaps a feeling of light (which you almost have), or a twist of some kind (like perhaps motion in the leaves). Try this: print on warm tone paper, and leave it to soak in Selenium toner for twenty minutes. Or get someone to stand out there in the water, naked. I think that such an image was Photo of the Week a few months ago (I could be wrong), but if you look, you might see a similarity to what you can achieve.
