nacivet 0 Posted March 30, 2004 Hi, For me photography is expressing feeling with one single image for exemple. How do you see it, with words this time? This is just a test picture, as I have to get familiar with this website, and spend more time to get familiar with it. Jean-Paul Nacivet, photographer by "passion" Link to comment
leilani_namour 0 Posted March 30, 2004 I really like this Photograph, the lighting is perfect, giving the correct feeling. Although this idea seems a little common, you made it unique by simply showing feeling through body movements...very nice Link to comment
tom_baker2 0 Posted March 30, 2004 I really like the light that you captured. The soft light on her back and the back-light of her skirt and dripping water are very nice. Excellent use of depth of field as to not distract from the moment these two are sharing. And of course, their body language is beautiful. And as for small details, the small ripples created by the dripping water are elements that make this image even stronger. Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted March 30, 2004 I love it! :-),,,Have you considered a tighter crop, and perhaps less saturated background? Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted March 30, 2004 what a passion! I think Pawel is right about the desaturation of the backgrounds: it is a little disturbing. Very nice shot! And good actors! Link to comment
nacivet 0 Posted March 31, 2004 First thank-you to all of you for your critics. Yes I agree, the background or the whole image could gain intensity if it was less saturated or even in B&W, I did it already, but in this case I just put the original picture as technicaly I took it with Fujichrome 64 Professional Tungsten (RTP)this explain the blue background, the couple got light from the sun reflected on a 2 square meter golden reflector, as for the couple "good actors" Cristina says, it's more sophisticated as you may think, it's kind of authentic, as I took care in the casting to choose two professionals models who were living together (and really in love) for already several years, in this way you get much more than setting-up a couple with two models who sometime don't know each other five minutes prior shooting. These two where so beautiful together, that I sincerly whish they are (after several years since the shooting) still living together. I will check on that ! in case there is a new role to take ! By the way if you are a model and come throught Bali Indonesia (this is where I live 7 month a year, the rest of the year I spend it in Burgundy France), please get in touch, as I always look for new talents, professionals and amateurs. gabrielma 0 Posted March 31, 2004 C'est bien, (pas mal bien sûr!), mais je crois qu'avec un peu plus de contraste elle serait encore mieux réussie (l'image et la femme).Bonne manière de "feeling", mais si tu voudrais dire "passion" aux anglophones, d'habitude ça voudrait dire autre chose (il-y-a une manque d'ésprit de ce côte de l'ocean).Le títre: s'ils s'aiment, pourquoi est-qu'-ils s'aiment doucement? L'eau? Je suggère "Love me always"; seulement une idée.Es-tu un photographe professionel? Sinon, tu as de l'intuition. Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Ah, voilà. I guess I posted my comment moments after yours... Link to comment
To continue in english, the models are so beautiful that it can take away credibility to the scene, but thats not your fault, and anyhow this picture is just pure beauty! andre_napier 0 Posted April 1, 2004 This is a very average shot. By the way all four shots you have posted so far are very average. There is no dady holding a frame picture of momy inside another frame of the kids, or other creativly cloned several feet all over oriental face. Those are artsy, yours is average. It is so average that I see pictures like this every month in Vouge and other Fine European magazines. Your work should be where it belongs and not taking the valuable memory space from our server. Congratulation and good luck. Andre Napier. ( www. MissObiektywu.com ) Link to comment

robert_stalzer 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Well done! Just my compliments and rating (7/7). Link to comment
nacivet 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Dear André, I would like to add to your comment, it's probably worse than you think as I tried to post my very best pictures, so I have plenty of pictures worse than this one or the 3 others. Should I erase my folder right now ? Regards, Jean-Paul Nacivet, NB: I look at your portfolio, you have some good pictures there. Link to comment
tomm 0 Posted April 1, 2004 First, I think average was a piece of irony if you read the comment more carefully (considering Napier gave you 7/7). Personally I feel everything is great when it comes to pose location. Still I feel you could improve presentation by a little less tight crop, level waterline and applys a tiny bit more USM. Anyways, nice work! Link to comment
thales milesius 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Jean Paul, I don't believe André wanted to be rude with your work. On the contrary. You must be proud to have scored with this one shot from your very entrance. :)About the background, I don't think it needs to be downgraded by any means. In my opinion it doesn't disturb but instead it provides a hint and the mood for how we must interpret the body language of the models. It's a quite necessary part of the wholeFrom now on, should I need to explain how true tenderness and wild passion are the same thing, I'll point to this picture. Good thing you've decided to shared it. Link to comment
nacivet 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Dear Tomm Hansen, As you probably saw, I'm completly new in this cyberworld. I had my first pc in January 2000. Slowly I try to figure out how to....open a new folder at photo.net just to give one exemple. So I have no idea yet who give what for rating if they don't mention it strait away.....give me some time. Whithout beeing completly sure about Andrée meening, irony was my first thought, and I sincerely mean it when I said he has good pictures in his portfolio, but so far I did'nt gave any rating to anybody, as I want to see many portfolios before giving my opinion. Thank you again to all of you, and for André I can give more than 7/7 for your irony, for that I need something like the Ritcher scale, an open ended scale. Merci encore. Jean-Paul, Link to comment
andre_napier 0 Posted April 1, 2004 I trully believe that your work is great, and you are one very talented photographer. To validate my opinion I can state that I had been around professional photography for some 25 years both as a photographer and editor and can clearly tell one when I see it. I can not judge the technical qualities of your work due to web compression but I can appreciate its artistic aspect and over all feeling coming from your work. Photo .net is a strange place, here noone can see the king being nude, and little kids to point it are to few and to scare of revange. Plain flat shots of "daughter with no cavities " are making it all the way to top ever pictures even thought their gray scale is ridiculously shalow, and could never be let to print by any editor. Cheap and cheezy tricks with newly found photoshop are scorig high. In this background your work caught my eyes instantly as it presents real quality an d for this I congrats you. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 2, 2004 Who care about the background here!?...Welcome on PNet planet ! Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted April 7, 2004 Great shot. Lighting, composition, DOF, all perfect. Too bad they only give 7, you deserve higher. I'm maninly a Nikon man myself, but after seeing your work I may have to buy a Canon. Link to comment
kaurlass 0 Posted April 9, 2004 For me too photography has always been about expressing feelings. So often you try to reach for the sky, but sometimes you have to fall to be closer to heaven. This describes it. He is hurt and she is comforting. There is a feeling of understanding and a little pain. Broken dreams are only dreams that did not come true. You live on. And you have moments like this to remind you - it's good to live. You live and learn. Can't hold on anything but only the bright light in you. You move on. ... even so, some people only live and live. Link to comment
