benoit_friry 0 Posted March 29, 2004 The colors seem too saturated to me. And it's also a bit comfused. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted March 29, 2004 This is my kind of country, Lou Ann, and I would not have guessed Alaska if I had not already seen your folder. This appeals to me, since I love open views from high points, with all of the chaos and variety that nature throws into such scenes. Homing in on that rocky area would be another possible crop. aepelbacher 0 Posted March 29, 2004 Thanks, Lannie ... this is the only "close up" that I have. Obviously it was taken by someone else. :-) Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted March 30, 2004 Magnificent vista and difficult to capture on film. Did you get any close ups of those interesting-looking rock formations? Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted March 31, 2004 I've always had trouble framing scenes like this, Lou Ann. The lens is never wide enough to capture the grandeur of ones experience, and even if it was, composition usually suffers. I'm not sure how I would have framed this, but given the hindsight of seeing yours, I get the sense of interference from the foreground foliage - it's not enhancing the scene as one would expect. So, given what you've captured, I saw a couple of frames (shown in the attachment) that appealed to my eye. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 31, 2004 WOW!! Thanks, Michael! Your PS skills are MUCH better than mine!! I love what you did here. I have to say that, although I didn't leave Alaska with an overwhelming desire to go back right away, one of the things that I DO want to do when I am there again (some day...) is to drive the Dalton Highway on my own, and not on a tour. Now that I know what would be involved, I am confident that I could do it. Then I could spend several days and truly explore places like this ... with my camera. What a blast THAT would be!!
