Max, interesting shot. I like eye shots and have just done a couple (still in the can). Needed a closeup lens and still am unsure what the results will be :). I do notice a little JPGization around the iris, dunno if this is the camera, the processing, or photo.net's processing :).

This photo is technically magnificent, the capilaries in the eye and the leftward lashes are really in focus. Even the reflections on the iris are well thought out. The photo's one folly, imho, is that I don't see a context behind the photo. You chose to crop out the eyebrow, concentrating on the eye by itself as opposed to as a part of a person, yet the skin is smoothed to cancel the idea that the capillaries may hint on stress. It's late, I may just be talking out of my arse.
