rachael jane 0 Posted March 28, 2004 The colors on this are neat. The focus seems slightly more soft than I'd like it to be. The lighting is interesting-- daylight? I do like this photo overall. Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted March 28, 2004 Well Rachael, the original is rather red, tungsten light, but some PN darkroom magic turns it to bright dayligt, a question of white ballance. Subject dryed union and beet. mike Link to comment
pauljacob 0 Posted March 30, 2004 I find this picture as an interesting contribution to the different themes of food-photography. "good gemakt" Mike. Greetings Paul Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted April 1, 2004 I like the colours and composition but would like it to be more in focus. (But I can't cook so what do I know about this?) :-) Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted April 1, 2004 About focus, this is macro photography and in this way you still have a feel of depht, it stays spacial and not flat. mike Link to comment

kristin_morales 0 Posted June 14, 2004 I would like to try a dried beet but will pass on the onions....interesting colors. Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Well, Kristin. You cut a boiled beet in thin slices and dry them in the oven at aprox 70 degrees celcius ( I do not know excactly what that is in fharenheit)for about two till four hours. Very nice with game or lam. Bon a petit. mike Link to comment
eleanne_grey 0 Posted May 23, 2008 That's an original macro shot - like it a lot! As some people already said - me too, I would like to see it more in focus :) I'm shooting macro a lot & I know it's possible even without a tripod to have it much in focus :) But this photo attracts our eyes anyway - originality is the first thing :) Kindly, Eleanne Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 26, 2008 Hmmm, I start to lijke you Eleanne, you are very kind ;~))) The red thing is beet, a red veigitable, I did cut it very thin and dryed it in the oven. The rings are union, dryed the same way. Very tasty, nice with game. Cheers, Mike Link to comment
