Thanks, Larry...

Although looking at it here, I am puzzled by this weird pattern that I am seeing all over it. How did that happen? Its not that way on my HD...

So - looks like we're having a resizing issue here, hence the "checked" effect on the image. Sigh. Maybe I will re-upload it...

I like this, but I can't figure out how you got so many images with, apparently, so few mirrors. It is an extemely clever concept.

Like your creativity Amy. You're a diehard photographer with a great eye for shots. Maybe a touch of exhibitionism :) ... ? Good job!

would have preferred black and white. Image seems unbalanced. Probably due to the top left hand corner.

This is very nice Amy. You do good work. I like the models positions. It makes you look twice because there are only two mirrors and yet you see six nudes. I like this. Technical aspects are right on. James

Yeah Amy, IMHO, this is a good one. I like the fact that when you first look at it, you think it is only one model, but upon closer inspection, you realize there has to be two. Apart from this nifty "double take", I like the multiple views of line and form. My only complaint would be that the model on the right (in front of the mirror) is cut off halfway up. If you were able to recompose so as to get her torso included as well I think you would have a more balanced picture. Very nice as usual though.

Thanks Amy, after you politely pointed out that you are the only model, I looked *yet again* (good excuse huh?). Anyways, the mirror on the right of the picture showing the front side of your body is the one that fooled me. I thought for sure that was another model lying there, but yes, upon much closer examination I see that it is just a reflection. What got me more than anything (I think) is the fact that the mirror edge on the left side of the photo is very clearly defined but the one on the right edge isn't. Because of all this confusion, I like it even more!

Nick,

Its is rather confusing. The two mirrors are set into a broad V-shape and my feet are almost touching the base of the V. I think whats happening is that there are reflections of reflections in each mirror, if that makes sense.
The most difficult thing about this shot was getting the tripod low enough. I wound up taking the center post-thing out and re-inserting it upside down - yay, Bogen! - so that I could have the camera just a few inches above the floor.
I did a whole series with these mirrors, but I neglected to acccount for the fact that the mirrors were going to bounce the flash around, and so a lot of them have weird hotspots. Back to the drawing board!

Just discovered your work today and i'm very pleased for this. Creative, elegant and a point of strangeness are almost commun in all your nude shoots. Bravo! I have also personnally making self portrait with a digital camera if you want to give a look... Will look at your folder to see more in the future! Ciao, Vincent

The two model look really gorgeous with perfect body and smooth silky skin that absorbs the light with such sensuality, it reminds me of a smooth eggshell like texture. A clever use of mirrors that shows the female posterior to good effect, but in a posture like this I would have expect to see the female genitalia, by not showing it seems too deliberate. Once again great model and nice photo.

you said that in several shots you have a problem with the reflection of the flash. I would love to see a variation with natural light, for example near a window and with a longer exposure.

But this shot is great! thanks a lot!

"Is this 4 mirrors that form a square? "

No, its two long mirrors set into a V-shape. My feet are at the narrow end of the V, the camera is set slightly outside the V.

Amy! For me there is now too much light. There seems also to be a problem with colorshades (or is it in my monitor??) Any way, I like your always new ways to surprise us, but: on day you have to stay behind your camera and work out more careful compositions. Now, as your own model, you do not have control enough. I like the use of the mirrors. I am curious what kind of mirrors you were using and what angle you set up with. I know this may sound like a stupid question but I am wondering where the camera is with respect to the image and how you managed to keep the camera out of the image. Also although I like the photo I think the scan lines somewhat detract from the photo. I know this was a digital photo but I am not sure where the lines that criss-cross the photo came from. The reason I gave this a 10/10 was because I though this was a very interesting effect and found it particularly ingeniuous with how the mirrors were setup.

In reverse order: the lines are a uploading/compression issue that are not present on the original. Its a digital image so "scan lines" aren't coming into play here. The lines first appeared when I uploaded the picture. (I could delete and reupload the image, but then I'd lose the comments.) So its a web problem, not a photographic one.

I have explained about the set up for this in my response to earlier comments, but here it is again: Its two long mirrors set into a V-shape. My feet are at the narrow end of the V, the camera is set slightly outside the V. I'll even upload a little drawing, although its not to scale or anything...The long white lines are the two mirrors, of course. The camera is set very low - I had to invert the arm, so that the camera was actually upside down - and close enough to me so that I could reach out to and push the shutter while in the pose, although I still used the timer delay to get my arm and head in place. Thanks for your comments...

I realized after I had made the comments that you had already answered some of my questions I had asked but only after the fact. I apologize for asking the question over again. I do appreciate the extra note with the drawing.

The major reason I was curious was because I have always been fascinated by mirrors specificaly the effect on images in the mirrors. I always wanted to try to capture an image in a room full of mirrors. Of course the technical aspects of doing that have not been answered yet. For example how to take the image without the camera showing up in the image and of course if a flash were used how to keep the white out effect from showing up. Of course I could always digitally edit the photos but that would take away from the whole point of the image. I guess I will just keep experimenting.

Amy,

Your work is creative and humble. I'll be watching for more of your work. How were those mirrors positioned again? Just kidding.

Thanks for the inspiration to test the boundaries of creativity.
