Kind of neat. Good job. But, you know that cigarette doesn't contribute a thing to this effort. You could hold a pencil instead.

Excellent, except two things. The cigarette and the window reflection on the lamp. Those distract me. Love the lighting, color pallette, composition. nice job.

Best portrait I've seen so far. I definitly agree with the cigarrete, the lightner and the accessories. Perfect colors and lightening, though I'd have framed him differently, I think the framing shows the inercy to stay as well as the igorness to leave. He's neither here nor there. As a computer software engineer, I feel too sympathic to care for the framing any more. Well done.

I like this treatment, but I think the technology present in the image too easily dates it. I like the cigarette and the lamp. The colour palette brilliant. tc

This is me, working. I dont hold pencils, i hold cigarettes.

It might not be healthy at all, but actually this is what i do.

Maybe this summer a self-portrait will look different.

I'll try, i promise!!! : )

I like it! It's an environmental portrait and this is your environment - cigarette and window reflection included. Nice job Harald.

Very,very good portrait. Excellent!

A pity, BTW, those witchunting Americans that worry about people smoking and don't bother about those that violently impose their rule in countries such as Irak or Palestine...

I don't smoke, myself and, yet, I am able to discern the photographic qualities of this image. Congratulations

witch hunting americans? it sounds as though someone's on their own witch hunt. come visit us; we won't bite. or take over your country.

regarding the photo? very nicely done. like others have said, the window reflection is distracting. i like the technology myself, but i think the keyboard is oddly placed. if you remedy those two things, you've got an amazing photo because my eye follows the tonal range of the wall. the contrasting silver of the laptop/lamp would keep the eyes interested and moving about the photo. very good 'first try'.

Alberto Conde, I don't think it is appropriate to voice your opinions of American foreign policy here on this guy's critique request. If I had it my way, I would just bomb Palestine into a huge pile of rubble. Screw those child murdering terrorists. By the way, where is "Irak?"

Oh yeah, the photograph. I would reshoot this photo without the lamp or the extra keyboard in the forground at all, then reframe the same subject, in the same pose. The lighting is great, and the table and wall work well togther.

Although I don't like the keyboard in the forground, it is because it is just out of place, I think the additional bare space of the desk would help the overall image. I do like the cigarette and the lamp. Looking into the reflection you see the entire office adding more emotion to the shot. Your stare is the best feature.
