I like the lines of the paper. I can almost feel the texture of the old book by these lines. The thumbnail view looked almost like a sketch.

 

I would have like to see the book open a little more. I lays flat on the left of the frame, but right side seems slightly out of balance. That's just my opinion though.

Actually i had a really hard time to put those hands and pages in that frame because he was a very energetic man...he was here for a moment and then over there re-arranging the books again... so this picture was taken in one his restless moments... you're right about the book but i think that this one shows his restless nature a little bit... :) thanks for the comment...that was actually my first real crit in photo.net :) thanks again...

I like the tone of this photo. I also like the cobble-stone background. I find the shoe and the whatever-that-is in the lower right corner distracting. I don't recommend cropping them, 'cause that kinda throws off the balance. Just keep it in mind when shooting; small things that you don't notice tend to appear distracting in a print.
