No clue why but I like it. I think it is the light and the reddish tone that create an uncommon mood...

I like the red/purple lighting in this as well. It seems like all the photos from this series seem to have a theatrical or stage feel created by the lighting. Was that intentional? If not, you might want an additional light from behind or above her to reduce some of the shadows. I don't mind it how it is though, just an observation. I like the styling.

Rachael,

Yes, it was my intent. I was a theatre lighting desinger for a number of years, so I was trying to create that 'dramatised' look to the whole thing. I think parts one and two don't quite have it, but the rest came off much better.

And yes, I love the styling as well. I was lucky enough to find a very good make-up artist and a stylist to work on the shoot.

Heh, go figure. The one that *I* prefer out of this folder is the one that is overall rated lowest (never claimed to have the same tastes as anyone else). HOWEVER, this one also has something that bugs me, so I can offer something other than a "Woohoo! I love it" comment. The lines in the window frame not being paralel to the side of the shot gives it an askew feel that bugs me (when I turn it in my mind looking at it, it is prob'ly one of the shots I like best of those I've seen recently). Anyway, thanks for the comment on one of my shots (even though I *do* disagree with you, he he).

6/6 on this one, am tempted to give it a 7/7 because I think the overall rating is FAR too low, but it isn't my place to try and make up for other people's ratings that I feel are too low (no matter how tempting).
