fiki 0 Posted March 22, 2004 Enormous and long heats in Europe caused that, as well as beasts and their quarries meet at the watering place in Africa, I met the Swallowtail ( at a swimming pool. I distilled a few drops of water beneath his proboscis, he got frightened a little bit, though he did not fly away and drunk them all. Thus the butterfly became the domestic animal for a while. As well as when I was twelve and collected one hundred black caterpillars of the Peacock butterfly. I nettle-fed them between glasses of a double window at our cottage until butterflies were hatched. One day, I let them out by opening the window and I wont forget till the end of my life how this iridescent cloud glanced in the sun. Link to comment
herbert fernandes 0 Posted March 22, 2004 very nice and sharp.. wish the back ground was darker or a different color than yellowish to contrast the swallow tail butterfly Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted March 22, 2004 Hi Jan, we have swallowtails here in Texas too. I like the way you captured the shadow in this shot. Link to comment
john_bourgon 0 Posted March 23, 2004 Only nitpicking I have is that i agree with the comment about background color. It looks like it was a very bright day though. Very fine detail Link to comment
rashardw 0 Posted May 22, 2004 I love the design pattern on the wings. I hope you will take some time and look at the butterfly that I managed to capture as well. Great focus, I love the little hairs on the top of the thorax and head. It makes him look so cuddly. Link to comment
BobSandford 0 Posted January 27, 2007 the play of light and shadows on the wings adds depth and really brings out the patterns on the wings. Link to comment
