jonathan_bundick 0 Posted May 11, 2001 I like the shot. Needs more DOF, and I wish the upload was larger. Too small to see details. Link to comment
joe_miles 0 Posted May 11, 2001 This photo really has two scenes - tulips and craggy, spidery trees set against the sky. They are both nice, but not together - they distract from each other. Also, I feel the angle for the tulips is too low which is why you have so much sky which distracts from the tulips. It's also out of focus. This is a common photo scene we have viewed many times, so you need something new and different. Link to comment
david_branum 0 Posted May 12, 2001 I agree, more DOF would really be great. Personally, I like the contrast of the tulips and the "craggy, spidery trees". I feel that one of the goals of photography is to capture what appeals to us and what we like. Are we photographing simply for commercial purposes or to express ourselves and try to preserve images that we like? Hence, I think the originality thing is over-rated. Link to comment
ovidiu moise 0 Posted June 27, 2001 The garden of Bagatelle in Paris, France had these absolutely striking tulips, so fleshy and full of life. I was impressed by the contrast with the trees... It did suggest me life after some terrible disaster... Link to comment
ovidiu moise 0 Posted July 17, 2001 Thank you all for your comments. The whole point of this photograph was the contrast between the fleshy tulips and the spidery trees. Link to comment
