Guest Guest Posted March 19, 2004 It's the little church in Tiburon/Belvedere CA. I have been there many times. I think the steps are a nice symbolic message to "walk up higher". Link to comment
aaronsizer 0 Posted March 19, 2004 I don't know--a little unsettling. The composition is so symmetrical that it makes the slightly off-center framing seem odd. Link to comment
sterioma 0 Posted March 19, 2004 Aaron,I tend to agree with your comment about the non-centered framing.I have another shot there, which a different composition, which unfortunately is affected by light leaking (I am in the process of foaming my camera these days to fix that issue) Link to comment
kevinbick 0 Posted March 24, 2004 The second shot with the anchor I think is a bit better than this one. i like both. Kevin Link to comment
dennisdixson 0 Posted September 26, 2005 The first time I saw a photo of this church was at a persons home I was visiting nearby. I had to rush out and find the church right away. Wood frame Catholic churches are rather rare, especially in this part of the country where Spanish Mission style buildings are more common. You could easily re-crop this without loosing too much of the foreground. I almost think a view camera (or a very wide angle lens) is needed to shoot this from the top of the stairs. I like your version a lot. It is a very neat place that is not so pretentious as many others. A carpenters church. Link to comment
