This shot was taken at feather factory. It is part of the daily presses at this machine. This actually washing machine and the guy getting ready to discharge, but he must break the feathers loose because the centrifuge forces compressed them during the centrifuge.

This reminds me of photos taken back in the early 20th century of mine workers and the like. Maybe more contrast and grain would help give it a period feel. However it is modern and I find it fasinating to know about other people's work places.

The composition is good - you know where to place what within the photo. The one drawback that strikes about this photo is the worker himself. First of all he is too cheerful and in a strange way too positively aware of the camera. Secondly he seems very fit for seemingly a tedious and physically laboring job.

I like this look into a world I've not seen; informative. Would prefer the worker to be concentrating on the job in hand rather than on the camera. Did you ask him to pose/ loosen the mask?

I made this shot accidentally, I was playing with my camera at work and happened to be walking by when this guy was doing his work ( he had to reach in to the machine with one arm to loosen the material) so I stopped and took a picture. So this worker is not posing for me he just doing his job. He probably smiled at me imagining how he would look on the picture. I made one 8X12 for him.

I like the position of the man and the tonality in the background. it's great how it goes from the lighted foreground to the dark background with some reflection in it. only little point is the white dont't-know-what on the left bottom on the floor. would be looking better without it. great capture, thanks for sharing, richard
