Having recently given up digital photography and gone back to film,

I would appreciate your critique, however virulent.

I guess there are a million similar pictures, but this one was particularly easy to take. I liked your one - has a comic Italian feel.

yes a lucky shot - but we all know just being lucky doesnt make a good shot - a lucky good photographer does :-)

Maria, I left you comment below the picture. Hope you think I was fair. Could you comment on your 3/3 for this one?

No never tried it. Is it easy to develop? The sleeves were not the only thing strange about this guy I can tell you. I find it funny all the thousands of people who looked at the picture maybe never noticed the "truth" behind the picture. It's totally a real shot and unmanipulated in any way. And was spontaneous. I just saw this opportunity and had to photograph it. It's nearly Friday so unless someone guesses I will reveal all tomorrow.

Gagné - But why then isn't he in motion? I do detect a hint of sarcasm in your response? Or am I being parano?

Dear John (this is not a dear John letter), maybe the guy is a mannequin or a mime? I'm sorry you thought I was sarcastic. I wasn't. I like your picture!

There is nothing to reveal. The shot was obviously staged, even if you took no part in the production.

Monsieur Prouty - It's especially obvious given that the explanation is already written above. No prize coconut for you I'm afraid.

This caught my eye right away ....I enjoyed it yes it has a few minor flaws but they do not matter to me still a great image and a fun capture!

Well lucky for me, since I don't like coconuts.

But all kidding aside I must say I'm a bit confused as to some of the high ratings and a few of the comments. It just surprises me that (as you mention above) so few people on a photography site would not understand what they are looking at.
