ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted March 13, 2004 Creative Jim, but maybe a tad too tight at the top Link to comment
mari_mar 0 Posted March 13, 2004 wonderful composition, Jim, like an iceberg, only showing a little at the top as all of us. Merece un poema! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 13, 2004 The beneath part is incredibly overdone, both conceptually and visually, and it's cropped much too tight on top. Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted March 13, 2004 we all think we make great things in our life: but it doesn't matter how high our buildings are, how impressive our cities are. The real thing is underneath: it is our past, centuries and centuries of different civilties and culture... Can't agree more with you, Jim! This is at least my interpretation and from this point of view cropping is allright and basement is not overdone! Link to comment
jbs 6 Posted March 13, 2004 I have only recently started to look at your work and, like the others, I really enjoy your originality. I would rate your work but, I would then have to re-evaluate my rating curve....;)...J Link to comment
httpandrzejdragan.com 0 Posted March 13, 2004 I could recognize your works just seeing their color stains... You have this unique and specific sense of color. And the above photo is obviously another piece of art from your foundry. Cheers! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 14, 2004 The analogy to the mind is so true - what we see on the surface is only a small part of the whole picture. There is almost always something deeper in us that may never be revealed to others, yet strongly influences how we live our lives and treat others. As usual, a thought-provoking study, Jim. amélie 0 Posted March 14, 2004 My mind! You found it! It is just so...little clock wheelies creating frantic thoughts all day long, even in sleep. Most excellent work Master Jim! Link to comment
geoff_waite 0 Posted March 14, 2004 There is alway more beneath the surface than meets the eye. I like it. The top is perfect. The close cropping reminds me of our limited vision. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted March 14, 2004 Brilliant work with originality >7. Beautiful piece of art, Jim. Congrats! Link to comment

abrakadabra 0 Posted March 16, 2004 outstanding work, nothing more to add, just great, I have to find shop with passionflower tea and start to drink it :), ps.. I cant wait to read something about light, there are many techniques dealing with it, but I want to know how you`re painting with light, Regards Link to comment
mihai_ragea 0 Posted March 16, 2004 Very interesting composition ! It looks like a medieval simbolistic painting made by modern means in modern times ! Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted March 18, 2004 Another masterpiece, Jim. The tight crop at the top gives the impression that what is churning below is constantly straining to rise the surface... Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted March 20, 2004 Jim, this is a wonderfully executed metaphor. I find the movement of the circular and semicircular patterns throughout the lower portion of the image to be very stimulating visually. I also like your choice of colors for the stains of the buildings. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 2, 2004 I have no more to add after all the above....... so you can imagine what I think........ Pnina Link to comment
ap 0 Posted April 3, 2004 This work reminded me of Time Machine by Herbert Wells. The naive creatures living in luxury on the surface provided by the industry hidden beneath. The prise is the nightly and arbitrary sacrifies of the lives of some among them to those at whose expence their day is care free. This might no have been intended, but I like it because it gives me an image for the concept of denial. Link to comment
stefan1 0 Posted April 6, 2004 Very nice - an idea very similar to that in the movie "Dark city". The faux chromatic aberrations on top is a good way to signify outlet of the energies consumed below. Link to comment
WJT 653 Posted May 9, 2004 This is very fine work Jim! I was first attracted by the "heat-treated-steel" colorations in the skycrapers. Very nice monotonic-gold for the foundation. I can "realize" the alienation in this; further study will be needed for the dreams. Very nice photograph! Regards. Link to comment
