zcreem 1 Posted March 13, 2004 The final moments of the Bull.Really intrerested in the technical aspects of the shot DOF exposureetc. Please restict your comments to the picture and not the sport, I knowits an emotive subject I just ask you be objective, thanks. Link to comment
dalebryant 0 Posted March 13, 2004 Did you shoot a burst of this action? Definately caught a decisive moment in time. Were you actually in the arena? Link to comment
zcreem 1 Posted March 13, 2004 Hi no I didn't shoot continuous, just a single shot. I was on the first row so just above the heads of the guys opposite and by exit for bulls. Link to comment
wedding-photography-denver 0 Posted March 13, 2004 yes my rating was entirely due to the sport. It made me really sad to see it. I guess my response was purely emotional. This said, I think the pic is actually a 7/7. Excellent exposure and crisp deatails. Spot on timing, composition (not that you can control that in this situation) and DOF. great shot for the photographic quality. :) Link to comment
zcreem 1 Posted March 13, 2004 Hi Micheal, thanks for that. I know it is a brutal picture and upsetting for some people, I took the picture not to offer opinion on the Sport but to try and impassionatly document it. I have my own views of course but they have not relevant here. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted March 16, 2004 Perfectly captured moment! Well done, Mark! And I can't refrain from expressing my astonishment at the reactions of some anglosaxons at the sight of a very ancient cultural spectacle, whereas some of them don't react in the same way at the photos of a boxing contestWhy?Do not deserve humans a similar emotional reaction when they attack each other, even in a sporting manner? zcreem 1 Posted March 16, 2004 Thanks Alberto, I have to agree with you about the reactions, they do seem a little one sided. Link to comment
amsterdam_it 0 Posted March 16, 2004 Well if you put a picture like this on the site you must calculate with some visious reactions, if you want it or not! Could be a nice so called "action shot". Seeing the Bull being slaughtered like this make me feel puke....... It makes me even feel ill when I think about the fact that there are humans on this planet enjoying to watch a bull getting slaughtered. It is just so wrong. But what can you do about it, some people see this as culture......I see it as a horrific way of people spending their free time. By the way, about boxing the end goal is not "killing" and no speers or knives are being used. Link to comment
zcreem 1 Posted March 16, 2004 Now you got that of your chest, I hope you feel better now! BTW no one forced you to look at this image, from the title it was clear what it was, and if it bothers you so much why look, there are plenty of nice bunny and kitty shots on the site that won't upset you stomach, before you eat your burger next time remember something had to be slaughtered fill your bun! amsterdam_it 0 Posted March 16, 2004 Yeah, you might be right in that. But that is slaughtered for a purpose which is to feed and not for fun like this. I am sorry I went off like that, but this picture simply provokes it as it looks so real and dramatic (credit for you pall). Well anyway, I better move on and look at the other pictures. Seriously I like your portfolio very much...but this picture.......I just can't look at it. Link to comment
