But I would love to see this without the grid treatment to it. Man a commode on a roof? Does it get better than that? Even with the grid this is a great image.

I will suggest something though. Even though it would be a pain in the butt (and of course if this isn't your house might not be possible) but changing the angle of the commode to face into the frame would help a bunch. The way it's facing leads my eye out of the frame...

Now, if the lid were up, this image would be priceless. That would be so cool. Great eye... Dave

Now, if the lid were up , this image would be priceless... !

I'd have to agree with Dave about the grid, it looks a little overdone, but I don't think the photo would be as interesting without it, and the photo probably wouldn't fit into this category.

It's very original, don't think I've seen a crapper in such a location (roof?) before! Also, I think all the colours work really well together, they are all of the same pastel quality. Overall, nicely done PT!

PT I'm going out on a limb with you on this one. I think the filter was a good choice for theme fit. The cock-eyed grid is just off line enough to echo the displacement of the toilet. Does the image need the grid to fill the requirement ... IMO no. But hey conceptually and visually it works for me. Also, considering the subject I think the muted and drab colour was a good choice. Well done.

The only thing this picture needs is someone sitting on the potty with a beer in his hand. :-)

Personally, I like the abstract grid. I think it's what makes the photo interesting. Sally mentioned a filter. Is that what this was, a filter? I don't think I've ever seen one like it before. Is it a Photoshop filter? A screw on filter?

Dave...keep up those artistic suggestion, such as the placement of items in the frame. You're right, the direction of the toilet does draw the eye to the left instead of back into the photo, but I'd not realized it without your comment.

Melissa - As far as filter, it would definitely be a PS (or the like) filter, not a screw on. A screw on would never produce that kind of DOF and blocked areas would turn black, not white.

As for the image itself, I wonder if there was room on the left of the toilet to produce a similar composition, but with the john on the right side of the frame. The situation of the lieu would then lead the eye into the frame as opposed to out of it. Otherwise... I keep bouncing back and forth regarding the grid. In some ways I like it (despite my general dislike for canned effects).

A brief follow up, I can't say too much as don't want to show my true ID.

The grid is just a very simple photoshop filter Melissa ...nothing clever at all. The reason I added it was to help hold it all together, without, it looked unbalanced. And Sally is right, I thought it added to the theme.

Dave, the access was pretty limited so I was tied to certain angles, the roof slopes down and a few days later it had fallen off. I suspect it was put there by workers as a joke.

Matt suggested without the grid it may not fit the catagory. Which puzzles me, just what do you see in this that isnt broken Matt? LOL.

Now for the drawers in the bus. Yehhh that was me too!

Nice graphic, I even like the broken lines --- but it's too much. The subject matter is bland, Pt and that's why you did the business - sorry.
