aepelbacher 0 Posted March 9, 2004 I love the texture and detail in this. Surely you haven't found such a perfect rose in Buffalo at this time of year? ;-) Link to comment
lou_verruto 0 Posted March 9, 2004 Why, whatever do you mean? Buffalo is mild and temperate all year long...perfect for Roses. They just don't have any color! They are pale:) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 9, 2004 Lou, this image is magnificent for its viewpoint, composition, and light/shadow rendering of the varied textures. Absolutely a jaw-dropping photo! - best, Gary Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted March 10, 2004 To say that you've absolutely, positively transformed my ideas about what makes a rose beautiful is probably belaboring the obvious. You've taken a thing that I recognize by its color, softness and distinctly feminine form and revealed "another side" with glorious tonalities, rugged textured features and a distinctively masculine form. Utterly amazing! To me, this is what great photography is all about. --jim Link to comment

aepelbacher 0 Posted March 10, 2004 Lou - you can't fool some of us ... I was born in Buffalo and lived there for 28 years. LOL!! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 11, 2004 I did too!! It is most certainly true. Check it out - my house was on Cleveland Drive in Cheektowaga near Union Road. My mother still lives in Lancaster off of Broadway. Does that convince you? :-) Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted March 17, 2004 Perfect, Lou! The comp with the stem coming in from lower left. The way it's lit you can almost feel the texture. Not only is it good in BW, but the tones are excellent Link to comment
rob m 0 Posted March 18, 2004 Its shots like this that brought me into photography in the first place a couple of months ago. When I first saw the thumbnail (in top photos section) it looked like a highly detailed pencil drawing. Inspiring to say the very least. Thanks. Link to comment
