Taken on a summer evening in the Sierra backcountry, near Muir Pass.

This is a very nice photo. The composition and colors are great, and shutter speed is well-chosen. One thing that bothers me is that the side of the mountain facing us is so unnaturally dark. I assume it's because of the ND grad.

I agree with Momo Vuyisich observation. The top of the mountain doesn't quite balance well with the bottom half of the photo.

Only one technical nitpick, on an otherwise excellent pix, with strict, clear composition, good balance of dark, that is something called shadow on the mountain, and light....The nitpick..the water is shot a tad too slow.. For water to show movement but not turn into mist, as this has done, one second is the slowest speed...If I werent sure, I would have bracketed the speed...

Nice shot. I have been to this exact spot and admire you for humping your tripod and camera to Muir Pass. It was worth the effort.

Kenneth, this is outstanding. Almost looks like it was shot MF. Fantastic detail and color. I think the dark mountain adds a little moodiness to this shot and complements the contrast well. Nice work!
