matt_chedgey 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Rather pleased with this one. I like that weird darkness at the edges. Not sure I can really improve on this shot; maybe the cars are slightly out of focus, but not everyone's perfect. The composition is one of the most interesting I've seen in a long time - I think it evokes a sense of longing or mystery, perhaps even desire. Any positive comments much appreciated. Thanks. mweb 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Nice attempt. Nice to see something besides crispy colorful flowers on PhotoNet. As for suggestions, I think the photo would benefit from darkening the midtones to accentuate the dark corners and bring out the semi-circle effect in the sky. I would also consider rotating it to get the horizon straight, unless you really like the downhill look. You might also want to do something about the digital artifact in the lower part of the pic. matt_chedgey 0 Posted March 4, 2004 It seems that some of you don't share the same enthusiasm as Michael for original photography. I am now prepared to take negative comments to find out why. Link to comment
arnabbanerjee 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Matt, I really dont understand why you have uploaded this photo here. There is nothing in it - shapness, subject, abstract, color, tone, mood - I cannot see anything. Either I dont get it or you are kidding. Sorry. Link to comment
mark_mankey 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Might have been more interesting without the dark corners. Link to comment
matt_chedgey 0 Posted March 4, 2004 I think the use of dark corners is a skill known as vignetting (?) It's used by all the top professionals to create atmosphere. Link to comment
