the grey house 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Sally, I like this series a great deal (as with other areas of your portfolio - nice to see such creativity!!!). I have tried similar myself and failed miserably. In particular I like the tones and crop you have used here - I would also like to see a slightly sharper (less artifacts) image though. Look forward to seeing your emerging work eclipsing mine and many others :-) Regards Paul... Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted March 13, 2004 Sally, from the thumbnails this was the one I liked the most in the drain series (though others were not far behind). Upon opening it I was a little disappointed. I'm not sure the embossing(?) filter has really added anything here. I also am not crazy about the coloring in the lower left hand corner. As far as composition and mood, I like it very much. The swirls are great as are the coloration and light fall off. I think the series itself is a wonderful take on a mundane subject. True art. Someday I will have to get over my ADD and spend so much effort on a single subject. Nicely done. Link to comment
sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted March 24, 2004 Thomas....sorry for the late response. I just realized I hadn't been on the ball with this one . It was an ink outline filter not embossing filter. Not that it matters much considering you didn't find the filter effective. What I was going for was more definition in the bubbles.I must say the quality of the upload is not the best. Too pixelated here. Anyway thanks for the comments and maybe I'll try it again - the filter. Sally Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 20, 2004 Sally, I´d liked to have rated even more shots of this drain series but obviously photonet breaks down every time I open one of your folders ;-( Link to comment
root 0 Posted April 21, 2004 I like this one best from the standpoint of a clean composition (oops . . . sorry for the pun :-)), but also due to the clear symbolism - for me - of the swirling delicate bubbles that must vanish down the dark drain ultimately. Such is my state of mind at the moment. Link to comment
