At first I thought it was a bit busy, but on second look it works real nice for me. Congrats on a fine image!

A very nice effect indeed. The deep color saturation makes the effect work better in this shot. This effect might be well used in a high key shot as well.

The intense saturation and wide color palette of your soft-focus nature scenes is remarkable. Eye-catching and authentic Impressionism. --jim

How does he get the color, one asks, PS sez another.. U have to read the little bit that says.. agfa ultra 50 and possibly a schneider on his sinar...Agfa no longer do the 50 ultra but they tell us their 100 ultra is just as good..

Maybe another shot with the foreground tree OOF or even IF, and the pond.lake in focus, and then chose the better shot. As it stands now, it is not a strict composition as the lake is also subject matter, but annoyingly OOF.

...It looks more like multiple exposures to me(???). At any rate, I really like the effect - wonderfully dreamy and gorgeous colour. Nice job.

It's quite apparent to myself and others I'm sure, that you are a "surfer" and headline reader with dubious critic skills and a "severe" bias toward film/Zeiss. Your constant use of Jay Maisel's name and "1000's of pics" is not only annoying to all, but misinformed as well. Jay Maisel (whom I agree is one of the worlds' greats) shoots exclusively with a NIKON D1X DIGITAL camera and says himself that digital can be superior to film.

For the sake of all here, please stop the bashing and limit your critique's to the subject at hand--the photograph and its visual merit.

Onward... This is a beautiful shot and how a real Monet feel to it--I'd hang this! Looks like a PS Diffuse Glow. Well done!

I have used Ultra50 to good advantage, and I do love the wonderful color saturation it can give in situations like this. I was occasionally accused of 'doing something' to my Ultra50 prints while I still used only a color darkroom, but it was just the film. I believe the film's saturation has given this scene the added life that makes this an eyecatcher. Not to mention the diffusion of light areas.

The camera position, to my own personal taste, is just a bit too far left. I would either like to see more or less of the grey object near the lake. But we are all different, and in all other respects the warm feelings this evokes makes it a very fine print to me. After all, that's what it's all about. Congratulations!

what a beautiful landscape... the colours are rich, the mood is surreal, the lighting and soft focus really brings out the dream-like qualities of this photo...
