nathanwells 0 Posted March 2, 2004 When you edit - edit well. I gave you a 1 for aesthetics - not because it was edited - but because you did a bad job editing. When you edit the picture should be perfect because you have everything in your control - there is no excuse for leaving bad edges. 4 for originality - again that suffers because you had everything under your control and you came out with a picture that to a trained eye looks bad. Next time spend more time editing - this picture has potential, just refine it! Link to comment
andreasalini 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Many thanks to all for your comment, I really appreciated it. Nathan: Thank you, the different point of view are always positive, no problem about 1 for aesthetics (it's your opinion) and I don't do photo to receive rate, I do photo for my enjoy. Rate it's only a way to understand if what I do is pleasant not only for me but also for some other people. What I don't undersdand in your comment is why 1? My work is so terrible? Is not perfect (I'm sure about this point) but I don't think "very bad" (the meaning of 1). Just for your information this photo was made by 2 different shot, in this "composition" a only insered a real sky (captured in Italy) to my 1st San Peter shot. Please fell free to reply even including some particolar about the wrong "edge" (maybe I can lear somethink....). Enjoy your time and of course sorry for my bad english! Link to comment

nathanwells 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Hi there, sure - let me try to help explain. I uploaded the parts that need work. The reason I went so low was because all this would take to correct is a little time and effort - always try to take the time in editing to make things look right. Second besides the bad edges, because there is water in the picture it becomes apparent (at first glance) that the picture is edited because the sky isn't reflecting. This is a more complex issue, that again takes some time to fix. Also, the shadows on the buildings are not right (to my viewing). If I am correct the sun is shining from the right side - but highlight on all the buildings is on the left - so that doesn't work. Hope this helps some! :0) Link to comment
Link to comment
