bored

This image was achieved with me, a cold rainy day, the top half of dutch doors, a desk lamp lamp and of course, my trusty Nikon and Sigma wide andle.

Thank you...as you can see, one of my MUCH older shots. I must say, I think that my boredom was much more productive back then.

All the images that were just posted, are older shots. I'll keep rummaging. As always, thank you for your encouragement.

Yes, I'm sure we can agree that good lighting is everything in life. And one that I heard recently, is that a mother's beauty is seen on the face of her child.

I really love your entire work with HANDS, but this one is my favorite. In this picture I feel great tension, maybe pain or desperation. Perfect use of composition and balance. Congratulations and keep getting out the closet all those treasures.

This reminds me of something that might be seen at one of those peeps shows. Unique~!

I feel the tension as well in this picture. The model seems bore stiff with the life and is asking for helps in some ways. Good capture of one's feeling with your camera!

A geometric shape (trapezoid?) broken at three corners and blackened at another, bounded by a rectangle, with a hand, arm, and head in silhouette and torso and breasts illuminated more or less. This is wonderful from a compositional standpoint -- something that I have never seen before. Very imaginative!!! Bravo!

I remember when I was watching "Texas ChainSaw Massacre", maybe "The Blair Witch Project", or maybe "Psycho" that there were scenes that moved me, although none exactly like this. So, Balaji, this is an Oft-repeated theme? Of course. I took five such today and have a whole portfolio of them. ;~)) John (tongue firmly rooted between gum and molar)

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the comments on this image. I actually was going to respond to the "repeated often " comment with a very playful "Yeah! But mine was FIRST!" I have seen this done quite a bit too, which inspired me to pull it out of my archives. I think that I did this image about the same time that I decided that I wanted all my shots to look like a David Fincher movie or a still from The X Files. Thanks again for all the observation.

The reasons for commenting on this photograph are two: 1)Its a real extraordinary abstract portrait shot and 2)U have rated and not commented on my photograph. Commenting always helps. This a great shot and I like the way the hand takes prominence. It gives a mystery feel, a sort of enigma. We want to know more behind the shot, we imagine things, it makes it more exciting. A big story behind. Kudos. RD.

Well you look pretty wild here ;-). Great pic. How did you get behind the door/window?? remote control or running in the time from the automated time shutter (don't know the english word). Very nice lighting and emotion. See you soon Tiffany :)

I haven't had a good laugh in days Nils...thank you! Imagining my naked self running outside my house, to strike some odd pose and beat the camera timer, while traffic cruises past my house...no, no, no...not the case. It is the top half of a dutch door. So, no running or outdoor streaking was necessary. I do the same thing as you, with some of the self portraits that I see....picture the photographer staring into the lens with some meaningful expression or convoluting their bodies in some weird way....waiting for the "click". We artists are an odd lot! Thanks for the giggle.

And the light source is a clamp lamp at the top of the door.

This isn't a critique. I just want to say you've got a fabulous gallery. And, since this is in the self portrait section, you are remarkable to look at, as you "see" yourself!
