I took this picture last weekend, on the Loch an Eilein, near

Aviemore (Scotland).

What I like about this picture is the fact that you can see two very

different tones of water. That is because half the loch was frozen (I

got a couple of pictures of myself "on" the loch).

I hope you guys like it, and some come here to Scotland to capture

some of its wonderful views.

I love the clarity you get in the water and how it plays against the tree line. Too bad the sky is so uninteresting. Oh well, it is Scotland after all..

Thanks for the comment. You're right about the sky, it is not that interesting in that picture. Though, it's amazing how quick it changes; some of the pictures that I took within that same walk have quite different light/sky coditions.

Fernando.

A couple of pointers. Sky is to bright without any contrast. The mountains in the background could use a bit of burning and maybe, maybe the water on the right (the reflective part) could use a bit of enhancing. But the photograph I dig. When I visit Scotland you need to give me some poionters on places to visit, apart from the Whiskey trail :)

"Poor colors and light. Composition not too bad but not very interesting"

I agree that the light is not the best, but IMO the colours are not that bad (except the sky, which quite ruins it). But I really think that the colours on the water and trees are quite realistic (specially the ice, it's just the way it was).

Any recomendation to improve composition in landscape shoots? Living in Scotland I really enjoy "landscaping", so I guess I should improve it :-)

Thanks a lot for the comment!

Hey thanks for those ideas! I guess it's too late to do anything about the sky, but I sure can play with the mountains and the water.

Thanks!
