cristina_fumi 0 Posted February 23, 2004 I don't actually know what i should think of this one. Background was reaaly insignificant so I took it off because I wanted to underline the bricks lines towards the bench. I won't get mad if you don't like it... Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted February 24, 2004 Christina- this looks like the bench is sitting at the edge of the world, nice rounded foreground. I like the dramatic effect, something very different. The angles of the brick lead me right to the bench, think I'll take nap! Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted February 24, 2004 I liked it somehow, but i really wouldn't expect so many of you would like it that too. I was so mad when I took this picture that the background looked so poor... and finally thanks to PN people and their work I got the idea of putting black instead. Jayme you are right about the "sitting at the end of the world" I should have thought myself as the title...But I guess I was late... Link to comment
bill_ollar1 0 Posted February 25, 2004 Simplistic solitude with a sophisticated design. Great photo. Link to comment
photoworld 0 Posted February 25, 2004 It looks like these stones are pretty new, so clean. The bench is older and the dark background give this place a kind of mystery look. Your composition and the frame around it are well done. In a word a very fine picture. Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted February 25, 2004 Even better if there was just one living person in Milano who, on that poor lonely seat, would sit and reads the paper, or have a nap, or eats a ....most critics want to go and sit there to put some life into the pix.. Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted February 26, 2004 next time Thomas, I'll ask somebody to read a newspaper there. In this folder there is another shot the way you may like it... if you want have a look. Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted February 26, 2004 Yes, I liked that shot, Cristina, my only comment would be that if u moved the camera a little to the left, then the bright grass patch behind the trees, where the Italians play cricket, would be minimised, with less distraction.. Link to comment
vito_nobile 0 Posted February 26, 2004 Complimenti per l'ottima composizione fotografica Link to comment
phil rogers 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I really like the shot too. I'm amazed not just by the simple beauty and design of the shot but the fact that by this point there is not one rating below six. Even the best of the best get a rating below six. This has obviously hit a chord. Obviously well done! Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted February 26, 2004 Pity the digital.nikon doesnt give us any details or colors of the old? wood bench, nor texture of the newer? tiles..That would have been an interesting contrast... now they both seem to be, well, same color, material, age and texture...weakening an otherwise strict and balanced, albeit a little lifeless, composition. Guest Guest Posted February 26, 2004 The monochromaticity of this color image is what gives the photo its impact together with the dark background. Eloquent imaging of ordinary subjects is what makes photography so rewarding. best - Gary Link to comment
david-nicolas 0 Posted February 27, 2004 Really great picture - bravo! (By the way, thanks for your interesting comment on one of my pictures of Egypt :) Link to comment
nino1 0 Posted March 4, 2004 I like this contrast of the bench against the background and the pattern of the pavement. IMO a pigeon would have enhanced the sense of loneliness. Link to comment
baldurbirgis 0 Posted March 6, 2004 I like the space effect and I agree with Jayme´s comment. Good work. Link to comment
