Abandoned Bothy

ian cameron

This abandoned bothy is picked out by strong low angled sunlight against the dark midground knoll. The whole lot is overseen by the craggy An Teallach range. I used a polariser to saturate the colours in the sky and pick out the clouds, a 0.6ND grad filter equalised the light levels between land and sky.

I am still undecided whether this is better in a letter box format

with a chunk of brightly coloured grasses cut off so as not to over

power the mountain range, or whether the foreground grasses add

essential texture. Your views appreciated.

Im not sure I like that heavy of a black line going through the frame like that. I know it's natural but it splits the frame up too much.
