Can't say anything except this is very nice. Kind of looks like a Maxwell Parrish painting. I gotta try some Velvia 50!

Having been to Havasu Falls twice as a lad, I recognized it immediately. What an incredible place.... and your image does it justice. A well composed image captured perfectly. Nicely done!

Amazing how much manipulation would have been avoided if the photographer had used better color coated optics to capture this well composed scene, lacking in maybe just a bit of sparkle... see jaymaisel.com for artisitic composition with a touch of sparkle..we are trying to improve, arent we.. BTW JM is a 40 yr pro, with a fine arts degree, so we can safely assume his technical side is good, and that his shots dislplay artisic values...To see superior colors thru CZ optics, see photos4u.dk..His play with light and shadow seem much better than JM, due to his use of CZ optics, even though his compositions lack the ultimate artisic vale of JM, who has been shooting twice as long as his 20 years..

One of the things I like most about you Kenneth is your diverse style with color and composition...your full of surprises! The vertical format works well here because it is anchored by a diagonal lead in that has a really deceptive scale to it.The soft colors sing with tranquility.

The somewhat limited color pallette here is very effective. Wonderful complements of warm and cool tones. But what I enjoy most is your composition of the falls. The large vertical fall crossed below from right to left by its smaller projeny provides excitement as well as beauty. If I had to have something to pick at, I would want a little more of the pool at the bottom of the image. In any case, very nice work! Regards.

Notice you use the warm polarizing filter for a lot of your shots... does this add color? softness? can you elaborate for those of us here to learn?

Thanks Kenneth ... BTW.. stunning shot. The composition is what makes it for me. Nice flow from top left to bottom right.

Ken, Yet another winner! Would like to see the 28 & 24mm version of this one & then decide which one I like best. Don't get me wrong, I think this shot is excellent if a just a tad tight on the top & bottom cropping. Never having been there I don't know what obstacles you had to overcome. Best, LM.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments.

Regina: The warming polarizer is really just a warm-toned polarizer so you don't have to stack two filters and get vignetting. I use it mainly because polarizers sometimes give a bluish cast to the scene and I like my images a little bit warmer.

Len: I do have a few at 24mm. And in terms of composition, I actually like the wider shot more. But, at the top of the falls, there is a very bright, overcast sky that just ruins the entire image. So I decided to go with this version.

I love it. I couldn't tell if the colours are understated but I know a fine composition when I see one. I am sure you were completely unable to avoid it but the central bush just disturbs the silky flow of the falls a little.

I've had a chance to see this a few times Kenneth. As always the level of work you post is excellent. I too would like to see a little room here like Len mentioned. Still even without the extra space this is really a beautiful capture. Are the rocks really this color?? If so, what a unique location indeed. Well done once again.
