richard_lowery 0 Posted July 2, 2001 Tiger swallowtail on tiger lily ----folded wings to me are the best composition, but the topside of the wings are more colorful!! Compromise at what angle? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 2, 2001 Lovely composition and light. I read once about the time of day or temperature or something determining whether a b-fly's wings are open or closed at rest, but I forgot what it was. Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted July 2, 2001 ---thanks for your comment, Scott. This dude was feeding, his wings were going like a pump. I shot several, late in the evening. Never heard that about the time of day in reference to wing position at rest ---now I will watch for it. Link to comment
jennifercatron 0 Posted July 2, 2001 I think you should try shooting them both ways. The lighting was good, and the color superb. Nice photo. Link to comment
brian_shaffer 0 Posted July 2, 2001 Always difficult to get a good butterfly picture. Let alone have the butterfly on a nice flower. Good Job. Link to comment
catherine_horey 0 Posted July 2, 2001 I've tried many times to get a good butterfly picture of a tiger swallowtail and they never sit still long enough. I give you all the credit in capturing this moment on film. Keep up the good work! Link to comment
