Manfred Von Richthofen, the son of a Prussian nobleman and the most

famous air ace of the first world war, was shot down and killed at

the age of twenty five with 80 confirmed victories.

Check out my Airshow folder Shooter. It is a full sized flying replica. At that particular show they had five of these Fokker DR1s as well as a full sized Sopwith Camel with many original parts including a Gnome Monosuape Rotary engine. They also staged a 'Snoopy and the Red Baron" Dogfight of which I was fortunate enough to get a good pic.

Erin, I like this shot. It is a perfectly fine photograph of a replica vitage Fokkor Tri-plane. I did not know von Ricthofen was only 25 when he was killed.

Question: What kind of airplane were you in when you shot this?

The image was taken from the ground Alex, as the aircraft took off, using a 70-200 lens and a 1.4 convertor on a DSLR.

Erin,

This is what airplane photos are all about! Great shot - technically and aesthetically.

The scarf! HA! Great!

Love this photo.
