What do you think?

The foreground is too dark and sky too light. There are almost no highlights i the foreground and almos nothing below zone 5 in the sky. Also the composition is a little to plain for me.

I don't exactly know why but I like the effect of having a dark background and a pale sky.

wow, very dramatic sky! i think getting lower and closer to the subject may have resulted in a stronger image.

as far as the exposure I agree about the dark foreground and light sky. I attached a version that works better for me. ( this shot remindes me of one of my infra reds...

I do like the 2 layered version you attached, it puts more emphasis on the tractor, but it also feels like the tractor is lit since the camera side is shadow.
