Randolphs Leap

ian cameron

I returned to this spot ovelooking the river Findhorn in Forres, Scotland, every day from end October to the 5th November. On the 2nd Nov it seemed to have that extra zing, a recent rainfall made the colours shine and a polariser killed the reflections. It was the contrasting greens, yellows and reds with a central strip of pale blue on the water that gave it the edge for me.

Peak fall colour in Britain is rarely as glamourous as New England,

never-the-less I was delighted with the results. What do you think.

One or even two stops down would have given more color saturation and darrrk in the pix for balance. Also it would have highlighted just the rapids to make the pix more dramatic. If one blanks off a bit of the bright right hand bushes, then the river, main subject, becomes more prominent. However, with 2 stops down, it may not have been necassary. ....Lovely, natural, vibrant colors that only film and superior optics can give us.
