raymond_chin 0 Posted February 8, 2004 This image was taken in almost total darkness, so dark that the AF couldn't even function. What do you think of it :) ? Link to comment
alanb 0 Posted February 8, 2004 I don't usually like nature history but this is very pleasing to me because of the colour and shadows... which the purist will probably criticise you for. Link to comment
joseph_coalter 0 Posted February 9, 2004 Nice color and use of light. I'd like to see more background and also to see what the owl is sitting on - hopefully a branch or some other natural object. Link to comment
raymond_chin 0 Posted February 9, 2004 Thank you so much for your comments. The owl was actually sitting on a branch at the end of a glass enclosure about 10m away from me. The exhibit place has control lighting condition so as not to irritate the animals. Inside the glass enclosure was somewhat slightly lighted with very faith lighting (Thank god these owls don't move much unlike many others). Also at the time I really don't have my tripod with me. Hence, I was actually using the hand railing for visitors as my only means of support. Maybe next time I'll bring a small little torch light along to bring out more details on the owl, not to mention my tripod as well :). Oh! about the background setting, they are all artificial and I wouldn't really want to include them as my emphasis is only the owl alone. Untill next time at the bird park.....Thanks Link to comment
jefwong 0 Posted February 13, 2004 Overall the color and tone is very natural, it reflects the ambiance beautifully. I also wished that there was less shadow on the eyes but again without which the face would be flat...since the shot was taken on location, I can accept that. Link to comment
