Nigel- IMHO this is a wonderful portrait. Might I suggest increasing the contrast using levels and sharpen a bit, then use a blur layer to soften a tad. I hope you don't mind but I played a littl in P/S. What a beautiful woman, she obviously has character.

Jayme, thanks, I like what youve done. I will experiement some more. You are right, she is a character.

Love the quiet elegance in this ladies face. The more you look at the portrait the more you would like to intrude just for a moment and ask her what she is thinking about.

I do like the revisions Jayme made. What a beautiful lady!

I thinks it was better without the added contrast which makes her look artificial.

The original shows how delicate old skin can seem.
