Tripod, f16 at 42 seconds, 80mm/2.8 lens, no filters, scanned from 8x8 enlarged print. Taken at approx. 5:20am on fishing pier, long exposure from dark to early sunrise. You can see a house on the left, and a couple of boats in the distance. The wind was blowing hard to shore from the ocean and I had to shield the camera as best as I could. Exposures before and after this one were too dark or too light. The print looks really good considering it is from the slide, and the slide is luminous and saturated.

This image is one of my favorites, and has been well received by

viewers. Some pros on another site prefer the image in more of a

landscape format, rather than square. Do the square dimensions (this

was shot square to begin with) enhance or detract? If you want to

crop this image, feel free to play with it and post it in the

response.

Landscape would be so... typical, huh? But I like the unusual, and I like the square viewpoint. I also love the colors! You've captured it well!

Why make this picture in a landscape format? So it can look more like everybody else's? The square format works very well here. I don't think this photo would have the same impact if you cropped it.

I was looking for some example shots from one of these mamiya TLRs.All your pics from this square format are pleasing. I love the 6x6 format.

Thanks for sharing them with us.
