arnabdas 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Tack sharp, vibrant yet natural colors, nice composition and right choice of lens! Link to comment
california-seascapes-photo 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Nice work Kurt! I like the light dusting of snow on the mountain top and the nice even deep blue colors of the sky. Did you use a polarizer here? Link to comment
gilbert_fortier 0 Posted February 9, 2004 Another good one Kurt! Good contrast of primary colors and good eye guidance. It could look like a region in Québec called "Parc des Laurentides", where pines become more and more frequent as you drive north. About your trip to Vermont: it is hard to get nice winter images... My camera is not being used that much these days. It's hard because the trees are "nude" and the contrast with the snow is very high (and since our friend Velvia is quite "contrasty", sometimes it's a bit too much...). You need to find a really nice subject, and wait for a nice light to make it shine. But often, the light is superb, but all you have is flat snow with a plain blue sky, and it "lacks" something. That "frosty the tree" I got back in 2001 is a quite exceptional situation (and that is really sad...), so you need to be lucky and be at the right place at the right time to get a shot worth being uploaded! I join one of mine I took last week, of that little building you can find on my fall shots. It's OK, but there's not much going on...This one looked tilted to my eye too(probably the point of view?). Anyway, there's no specific tricks (except for usual care to avoid underexposure of slides...) for winter shots. Need to be there at the right time! But next spring, the apple trees on foreground are going to be full of flowers for a week in May, I'll be back for sure! See you later! Link to comment
