"Brave Ulysses"

jimmcnitt

A head and character study for a portrait of Homer's Odysseus. This composite incorporates textures taken with the D-60 and 540EZ Speedlite in the American Museum of Natural History (NYC). These include a longitudinal view of a dinosaur illustration.

Photographic texture sources include dinosaur bones, pocked meteorite craters on the surface of a bronze model of the moon, and the random fissures and scratches found on the surface a mineral specimen. "Brave Ulysses" is a CG wireframe model with photographic textures rendered in Poser.

Not to minimize all the beautiful work you've done here, but the eye is what makes this work for me. Something so simple as this makes is all come together. Just my 2cents.
