Guest Guest Posted January 31, 2004 Piotr, I have viewed your portfolio on more than one occasion. I must say that even when I dont' like your photo, I love your work. (If that makes sense) You have a definite style and recognizable work and that is a brilliant thing. I haven't yet even begun to find mine yet and thus I steal ideas and attempts. My regards and qudos for having developed such character in your work. Brilliant. PS. This photo stinks. Just kidding. It's excellent. A tad... I mean TAD... to dark. Near perfect and I'm getting kinda burnt on the nudes... so again that's a big compliment. Link to comment
ethan_finkelstein 0 Posted February 1, 2004 i love the tones and the lighting. i can see the velvia influence in this. awesome shot. Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted February 1, 2004 A Renaissance image at its best! This could easily hang on the walls of the Hermitage! Well done! Link to comment
droban 0 Posted February 1, 2004 I like very much torso arms and hands, I don't like the rest, some part is cover some not. It is hard to say what's going on down there. Fabric from seat cover is not working for me with fabric around her waist. I would get rid off it or make different seat. Link to comment
kostas2 0 Posted February 1, 2004 I love it.....the way you used the light makes it almost look like a Rembrandt Link to comment
seandepuydt 2 Posted February 1, 2004 Piotr - Excellent image. It is a bit dark, but I think this adds to the mood. Have you made any prints of this? How did the print turn out? Link to comment
koval 0 Posted February 1, 2004 I havent got a print yet...will do it soon. The bottm right contains some non printable area...apart form that all should be fine. ...I hope PK . Link to comment

hansio 0 Posted February 2, 2004 shadow.Long ago I got a good lesson froma 'old crack' in the field of photography. It is not an art to bring light to an image, it is the art of taking it away. This is an good example of that technique and it's not only a good one, it's superb. Bringing the light is a matter of adjusting your spots or hazylights, this a example of putting the shades at the rights place, of balancing on the edge of what the old fellow Rembrandt used to do. In fact, if he would have lived today, he would haved used the medium of photography. Therefore the remark to all of those who think that they know what a good photo is: Try to see it differently, see the shadows and the light will show you the rest, if you have the right eye, perhaps? This is not meant in patronizing in any way, but as a guideline to look as it belongs. This shot? Splendid. No other words needed. Link to comment
ian_segar 0 Posted February 2, 2004 If I didn't know better I'd swear you'd popped into an art gallery & photogrpahed one of the exhibits! A splendid picture and I think that the 'darkness' gives it an old oil-painting feel which adds to the picture. Link to comment
ben.goossens 0 Posted February 2, 2004 Wonderful lighting and pose... remembers me at the old well know Flemisch painters... Congratulations. Friendly regards, Ben Link to comment
azriel_abramovich1 0 Posted February 2, 2004 I love both the pose and the lighting! greate job Link to comment
timo_heubach 0 Posted February 2, 2004 This is one of the best photos I've seen on photo.net. It really looks like a painting. The lighting is magnificent and the shot has so much depth in it that I would expect to find it in Louvre. Great work indeed! Link to comment
behemot3 0 Posted February 2, 2004 Really like it. First of all thelighting is very good and secondly I am keen on nudes as there is nothing more beautiful than the womans body. Oh - you may think I am crazy - yes - but as usually your techniqie is exellent so I do not bother to comment on it. Overall impression - very good Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted February 3, 2004 Excellent evocation of ciaroscuro a la Elsheimer (in a rather sensual and Flemish way, if both actually can be mixed); very decisive definition of muscles and breasts, simple background...medium format is definitively not dead! Link to comment
pong_cheng 0 Posted February 3, 2004 it's like a famous oil painting..I like the frame crop tighter.. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted February 3, 2004 Another terrific shot. Great lighting, attractive classical pose. If I were to ever start shooting studio portraits, I'd emulate your style. Great work. Link to comment
