anabela 0 Posted January 27, 2004 this is to show that black and white flowers can be beautiful! Link to comment
spanish_grease 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Beautiful shot! The water drops add that extra bit. Flower doesn't quite seem centered in the frame though, that's slightly distracting to me. Did you 'paint' this with light, or what? Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Thank you. I took this shot outdoors under natural lighting conditions against a relatively dark background. Then I cleaned it up a bit and added sepia toning in PS. Link to comment
nick_seamore 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Great shot!!! It's like the flower is glowing on the inside, good lightning. Also like the sepia toning, looks more artistic this way. Kind regards, Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted January 28, 2004 Donna, this is truly a "gem". I love what you have done with the lighting and tones. Congratulations. Link to comment
wespettus 0 Posted January 28, 2004 An excellent shot Donna! This is absolutely luminescent. Your lighting technique suits this to a tee. I hope this is at least an 5x7 on your wall somewhere. Link to comment
timo_heubach 0 Posted January 28, 2004 This is just wonderful. The flower is so fragile and beautiful. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 29, 2004 In every way, it doesn't get much better than this. Powerful and evocative photograph. Thank you for presenting it - Gary Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted January 30, 2004 I have never seen such a colorless flower..There is no composition here per se, it is only one flower, in the middle of the photo, with water droplets, and with darkened outer petal edges. We cannot call it art, as photography is not art.. See Leica Forum dicussion on this matter. Oh, yes, it is in focus and a tripod was probably used.. Then..what is the big deal? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 30, 2004 Beautiful photo, don't change a thing. I'd hang it right over the fireplace. Link to comment
sean_hyde 0 Posted January 30, 2004 Donna, I am in awe of this image. I have been coming back numerous days to see this one. I don't think I've seen a flower image that can compare. It evokes so much emotion for me. --sean Link to comment

greg_stone1 0 Posted January 30, 2004 I think a whole series of this style would be in order. Art is a matter of opinion, not fact. Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Let me count the things I love about this image. First, the design. The distinct mandella pattern gives the overall image a mystical sense. Second, the transition between black and white. The sepia tones on the outter edges of petals are, to me, essential to the power of this scene. They add depth and delicacy. Third, the water drops bring a sensuality that I think the image would have otherwise lacked. Fourth, I dunno... I just like it... a lot --jim Link to comment
