Could not give the highest marks only because of the lack of background and as a result the manipulated look!!!!! The bird itself though is great imagery!!!!

I think this is a great shot of a heron! I like the detail in the feathers and face. How did you get the background to be so washed out and such great detail in the heron? I've been curious about the merits of manipulation of nature photos. Check out my photo of the Great Egret and tell me what you think?

I didn't know at first about not having a background and no frame to "hold" the heron in, but it's growing on me. Kinda cool like this! More original this way I think...
