Piotr, as some time ago you mentioned about this idea, you obviously know I've been waiting for these shots. The result is stunning!!!

It is sharp, fresh and very unusual.

Congratulations!!!

Piotr, I don't care how contrived or set-up this shot was - it is wonderful - superb photography - something for us all to aspire to...Congratulations.

I saw 4/2 rating for this shot and I would really like to hear the comments, because it seems to be extremely unreasonable and insane!!! I really do not understand for what reasons could anyone rate such a good picture so low. I have an impression some things are just unexplainable.

I know you told me about this picture the other day and you expressed some concern about where you had to shoot, but I think it works really well. The black and white for me is much more dreamlike. I love it great work!

Also i didn't even think about the picture being to the left, I don't think this matters because there is so much to look at.

I agree that the picture looks a bit out of balance, but if you increase the brightness on your monitor, the right side opens up and it's less distracting.

I like the lighting and the minimal use of color. There's certainly a story here, and even though I don't yet understand why you went to the trouble, I'm sure we'll see others in the series that will reward us for our patience.

It's really original! I've never associated awakenings with serving a clock in a cold room, and probably never will. But I like a diferent point of view. Are all these people the same guy? Probably time does not matter here, but I'm curious - was it 00:10, 2:00, 12:10 or 14:00?

Yes it is one model. The meaning , time etc ..may have some values...but before that : there is 2 ways of seeing what can be seen ..one will see a guy in a cold room just about to be given a clock. There may be some who can see behind it ..and then all makes sens ..good luck..pk .

Very good! I love the expressions. Interesting image. Fresh. My only grip would be the dark corner in the upper left hand side. --Sean

Piotr, I really enjoy this one. It's witty and theatrical and I love the lighting. I like how the diamonds lead us into photo. While I like this a lot, the critic in me says that there is room for improvement: 1) camera could have been a little more to the right (this might have allowed some separation between where you've pasted the guy in), and 2) there's a little distracting black area in the top left hand corner.

Extra-ordinary photograph, even if the acting is a little contrived. The floors dramatic shapes/contrasts, and the humans well lit action..perfect..

When a photo is set specifically to tell a story or send a message, it's difficult to know what elements of the composition are deliberate and which are overlooked by the photographer, particularly if the viewer doesn't fully grasp the message. And is that the photographer's fault or is the viewer just being thick. I liked the initial impact of the image, even in the thumbnail, with the strong contrast and graphic detail of the location. The expression and poses are amusing and intriguing. I particularly like the character in the background. But there is quite alot of muddled darkness (at least on my monitor)under the table, around the front waiter and by the counter. I would prefer to see the waiter on a white square, but I might miss your intentions here. The shadow top left corner and the light globe touching the black space are minor annoyances. It is very thought provoking, which is good. I'll just have to spend more time studying it to fully appreciate the message. It's certainly original and in no way deserves a lower score for that than the many 7's we see for landscapes and seascapes.

Just to say that your comment is very helpful...regading " darknes " all around the place ..why would that be ? when possibly such a place my go dark ? why the lamps are not on ? why every person on this shot has the same face ..? Is it real or a dream ? I would love to hear back from you one day ...cheers. pk .

I do agree with you about the top left , it is a big omition , somthing was not lit ..don even know what it is now. Bu other then saperation I feel it need to be of different crop imho. Shame I was really limited with moving objects there and when it came to cropping Iam a bit stuck ..when you observe the geometry of this shot it will become obviouse that the "massive" space on the right has to be kept as it is ..otherwise we may finish not only with a surreal image but claustrophobic too ...( no sure if I spelt it right :)) ...what do you think...?

Interesting ...is this your observation ? It makes me think ..lots of my images are containing a lot of darkness/ blakness...I dont even really know why ..It is just as I feel ..so that may be an interesting opinion.
