If there was a gun to my head, Ken, I'd have to say sunrise for no better reason than the lack of gulls and people. :-)

And yes, it does have a seismograph appearance from California.. witty. :-)

Thanks - I'll let ya know.

Yeah, if you stare at it for 10-15 seconds, it starts looking like one of those seismographic charts.

The image is easily darkened or lightened to taste - this version is near middle of the road.

There are so many positive things about this picture I don't know where to start. The only minor thing is the cropping of the highest pole... guess you can just fix it in pshop. but who cares? Really looks like a sismograph after a while, cool! This is going to quake the high rated page :)

Beautimous Ken! I can remember many a morning on my boat waking to such breathtaking scenes. Too bad a tripod doesn't work so well on a boat moving about it's anchor or I might have a few shots like yours above. What marina was this anyway?

Great eye to see this Ken. I personally think it might be even better without the sun, but cannot argue againts keeping it in there either! Or is it perhaps an egg in that there sky??

A truly outstanding shot, one of the best I have seen on this site, congratulations, you must be really pleased with this one. Its always a joy to see such excellent work, its original, and excellently composed, I absolutely love it.

Horizon in the middle makes it boring, I would have added more foreground for an earthier shot...or maybe, just only the reflections. Mask the photo and see the improved clarity..

You know this is my favorite of your postings. I have reserved comment as I felt I could not be objective. I do like how you have handled it here.

But the comment above forced me to ask: Boring? Our friend Ken???? never! I say Phooey on the idea that a centered image can't be interesting... this shot proves that it does work in some cases. There... now... can someone help me down from my soapbox.. NC is in the middle of an ice storm and I don't want to fall and bust my tail.

I'm not sure how aligning along thirds would have helped here - for me the symmetry is a highlight. Nicely done... and I like the sun breaking things up there as well!

For years I had the two thirds rule shoved down my neck, and then I saw a picture on the River Sein,(SP?) with a split in the river, and a building on the point of land, a reflection which was perfect, and the horizion was smack dab in the middle ! It had impact ! This has IMPACT, now for heavens sake, get out there and break a few rules like this ! (Please) *R*

Nice image here Ken. You have a very nice subtle mix of orange tonalities. I do feel the extreme right begins to fade out a bit. I suggest a slight right crop to make it stronger. Mama don't take my Kodachromes away.. please......
