Back a few years ago... That frost on the trees is a rare phenomenon, occuring when a very cold night (below -20 Celcius) follows a quite humid, warmer day... Close to rivers and lakes, the humidity then literally "sticks" to the trees, giving them that special look...

A great shot! I really like this one. The tree looks like a giant ice-crystal, the road is adding some perpective. The only thing I do not like is the building behind the trees - looks like a garage or so - but nevertheless, it is a great shot.

That Picture has everything. Its a pros shot. Damn good ! color range, visual guidance and color contrast, as well within the tree as between tree and sky. Great!

Very nice photo.

I believe this is called whore (sp?) frost. Rumour has it that it is supposed to rain exactly six months after you see it.

This is very beautiful, but I think maybe you've turned the polarizer just a bit too much. The extra punch it gives it is nice but looks somewhat unnatural. The phenomenon is called hoarfrost by the way.

Love the impact and the composition. Agree with earlier comment on over-use of polariser. I would like to see less indigo in the sky at top. Particularly like the conjunction of the tree's impact, yet the road really drawing the eye to the horizon. Yes hoarfrost it is, whores probably retreat inside when it's that cold!

Superbe. En passant, tu devrais aller faire un tour à bromont, tout le haut de la montagne est comme ça. Comme ton ciel est très sombre, je me demandais si tu as utilisé un filtre polarisant?

Having just broken the local record for not getting above freezing here in Salt Lake City (day 20 and counting), I like your picture, but am starting to review my summer hike pictures to remember what warmer weather was like.
