Do you think not having an object of interest does not help? I thught

even with out an object of interest the colors were worth capturing.

Perhaps I think differently from others but I don't think that there has to always be a single 'object' that is the subject - especially for landscape images. In your case, the colors here and the overall landscape provide the subject matter. I like this a lot.
