erin.e 0 Posted January 19, 2004 This really is a arcane machine from another time, not Dr Who's or H.G.Wells intrepid explorer, but an original one of a kind (the ONLY one) turn of the century industrial engine, built in the small town of Blenheim N.Z. and lovingly restored by this band of time mechanics. As always comments and critiques welcome. blago 0 Posted January 19, 2004 Erin, you have for sure that rare gift of "taking" photos of the past. Everything depicted here is so stylish - hats, suits, shoes, a pocket watch, and, above all, the almost forgotten thrill to see (hear, smell, feel) your big and shining machinery working. A glittering moment of the industrial revolution Englishmen invented to cope somehow with the boredom during the continuously bad weather. :-) I'd wait a second for the third man to be completely covered by the man in glasses. (The photo needs a frame to separate it from the white BG.) Regards. Blago Link to comment
vladimir_bojovic 0 Posted January 20, 2004 I agree with Blago that this image needs a frame to separate it from white background. It is a little bit too contrasty, but I see that as advantage. Very good and original photo. Link to comment
erin.e 0 Posted January 20, 2004 I have just dug out the tutorial you made up for me on frames Vladimir and will give it a go! (Just a skinny line for a start.) Ahhhh, success! Link to comment

bentes_world 0 Posted February 1, 2004 What a fine photo ... the movement in the wheel, the look of the men working with the machine and the tone and contrasts all makes this nice ... and it calls for a smile too. Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted February 17, 2004 I think we are kindred spirits! I love the old machinery. The sky IS blown-out, in this photo I see that as a plus, you don`t need a busy sky. I love the photo as it is. regards, -Jim Link to comment
