photobri 0 Posted June 28, 2001 I can't remember the name of this flower but - It was taken with a micro 105 2.8 AF D at 1:1 please take a moment to critique... Thaks! Link to comment
kris_haskins 0 Posted June 28, 2001 I think you have done a nice job capturing the subtle texture of the petals. Since the tips of the petals are not 'normal' it presents a slightly different picture than the many macro shots of flowers out there. Link to comment
jonathan_swank 0 Posted June 28, 2001 I like this shot...one thing esthetically wrong is the shaddow in the center caused probably by one of the longer flower pistles (or is it anthers? can't remember my biology...). It's a bit distracting. I would have tried using more direct lighting, as opposed to side lighting, but that might also have gotten rid of the deep shaddows on the petals, and made the image look more flat. Maybe two light sources would have solved this problem. Overall, the image may be a little grey, but that's is really a trade-off for texture, huh? Link to comment
andrew_leppard 0 Posted June 30, 2001 Did you use a filter when taking this shot? I really like the pure black background here. Link to comment
photobri 0 Posted July 2, 2001 This was taken still alive on the plant in my flowerbed. The shadow is caused by the evening sun. I used no filters, just a Micro Nikkor lens. No tripod, no flash, nada. Thanks a ton for your comments and questions! Link to comment
