No geographic frontiers beetwen the North andSouth but many centuries are breaking up them. If the North is a travel back to the Middle Age, to visit the South is to take a walk to the paleolithic time. No asphalted roads or hotels, many hours jumping in a 4WD to visit some different primitive tribe settlements.

What an incredible amount of cinicism in those comments of people that, probably, have never given an altruist hand to help the poverty and sufferance of the people of the so called South.

Marina does not only shoot great documentary photos. She also goes there and help!

I am amazed of how much crap can be added to a person's decent portrait!!!! It is a photo web, shouldn't the comments be mostly used for apreciation of the photos? Anyway, Marina, congratulations again for all the Ethiopia folder but for me the background of this one is not good at all, too burnt out and falling to the right. Her expression is weird but great for being that.

My critics are not a personnal attack against Marina.

IMO tHe folders of Marina about Ethiopia are full of great photo showing the beauty of these people.

I'm sad to see this one on top.

Why ? First this photo isn't perfect, the background is distracting. But more important IMO is the fact that this photo

can be interpreted in a way that seems to in contradiction with what the others photos of Marina seems to show.

I'm I wrong ? I don't think so : Kerara Tmneh feels offended while Sogeri Pilpoil make some strange assimilation between native & islamic people...

I think it's useful to notice that the large majority of Ethiopian are christians since the first century

and that the influence of Judaism in Ethiopia can be traced back to the King David ?

BTW this girl is beautiful it's sad she wasn't more cooperative with the photographer.

Thank you very much for all your comments and your interest on my work.

I disagree with the meaning you find in the gesture of the girl. She had a strong personality and was the leader of the group.

She followed me and wanted to pose for the photo.

I have uploaded a photo where you can see how trouble maker she was.

I have many photos of her, but this was the most interesting from a "photographic" perspective.
